South Florida Baptist Hospital Foundation

South Florida Baptist Hospital opened its doors to the Plant City community December 1953 after nearly 10 years of planning and fundraising by a determined group of community leaders. It was the culmination of a dream that began in the 1920s with a vision held by local civic leaders who wanted a hospital of their own for Plant City. Six decades later, the founders would be proud. Today, South Florida Baptist Hospital is a full service community hospital with a reputation for friendly, compassionate care and expert medical treatment. The hospital has a long tradition of growing and expanding its services to meet the community’s health care needs.

The Foundation was established in 1995 to raise funds for the hospital. The mission of the South Florida Baptist Hospital Foundation is to support the South Florida Baptist Hospital in carrying out its mission of providing high quality health care to all citizens by securing philanthropic support, practicing prudent financial management and continually accessing the hospital’s short term and long range capital needs. South Florida Baptist Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital. The Foundation has 501 C (3) status as granted by the IRS.
